Your passport must have an expiry date at least 6 months after you arrive in Fiji.

Safety in Fiji

Fiji is tourist-friendly but has some key cultural and legal rules:

Take extra care when walking at night, especially if you are a woman travelling alone, due to serious sexual assaults.

Avoid drinking any alcoholic drinks that may contain methanol, as even small amounts can be fatal, and seek urgent medical help if you feel ill after drinking.

Be alert to credit card fraud, such as skimming devices, when paying or using ATMs.

Only use licensed taxis and minibuses, which have yellow number plates, as unlicensed ones are frequently not insured.

Swim only from beaches with lifeguards and follow the flag warning system due to dangerous rip tides along reefs.
